About the job

Our Richmond manufacturing facility is adding a 1st shift Warehouse Worker - Inventory Control - GPHE / Off-site operator to our lineup, and we’d like to hear from you.

Hours:

6:00 am
-2:30pm Monday through Friday, plus overtime as required

As a part of the team, you will:

  • Receive daily work assignments from the Team Leader / Team Manager and complete cycle counting, location auditing, and pre-production verification activities using Standard Operating Procedures as a base.
  • Perform scheduled and ad hoc cycle counts, recounts, physical verifications, and location audits accurately and on time.
  • Enter and validate count results, approved adjustments, transfers, and inventory status changes in D365 or other assigned systems.
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies through system transactions, license plates, material locations, and physical verification; document and scale findings.
  • Coordinate with Material Handling and Production to resolve picking, replenishment, location, and material availability discrepancies.
  • Conduct pre-production audits to verify the correct part number, quantity, location, condition, and identification before release to production.
  • Identify, label, and segregate damaged, nonconforming, or questionable material according to inventory control procedures.
  • Report inventory, safety, quality, parts, or equipment deviations immediately and communicate findings during daily Status Board meetings.
  • Review inventory control processes and recommend practical improvements.
  • Act with professionalism, courtesy, and cooperation toward colleagues, customers, vendors, and visitors.
  • Safely operate forklifts, order pickers, and manlifts to complete assigned inventory control tasks.
  • Full compliance with all Alfa Laval policies and procedures is required to maintain a respectful, safe, and productive work environment.
  • Engage in daily and weekly 5S routines to maintain high standards in inventory control areas.
  • Use downtime to learn new processes, complete Status Board activities, and cross train in related functions.
  • Support problem resolution by providing accurate inventory information and following approved corrective actions.
  • Accurate & Consistent use of Personal Protective Equipment (Safety Glasses, Steel Toe Shoes, Gloves, Uniform others as required by the specific process)
  • Other duties as assigned.
What you know:

You have a High School Diploma or equivalent with relevant experience, and:

  • 2+ years of experience in inventory control, warehousing, or manufacturing.
  • Experience with cycle counting, inventory transactions, and operating forklifts or other material handling equipment preferred.
  • Forklift and order picker operation certification preferred.
  • Basic desktop computer and handheld scanner skills required; ERP experience, preferably Microsoft D365, is preferred.
  • Basic math skills required, including the ability to read a tape measure.
  • Prior manufacturing and inventory control experience preferred.
PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS
  • Stands or walks 80% of workday.
  • Required to have visual acuity to operate industrial vehicles and/or heavy equipment.
  • Be able to lift up to 60 pounds.
  • Must wear PPE: steel toe boots, safety glasses, cut-resistant gloves/sleeves
  • Environmental Factors (hazardous materials, work location, work surfaces)
