Director of Youth Ministries

Overview

Reveille UMC in Richmond, Virginia, is seeking a Director of Youth Ministries to plan, coordinate, and lead ministries for and with youth (sixth‑twelfth grades) and their families, including weekly Sunday morning and afternoon programs, special activities, and annual mission trips. The Director of Youth Ministries works closely with other staff and church leaders to facilitate an integrated approach to youth ministry.

This position directly supports Reveille’s vision to welcome all people to follow Jesus Christ and serve together as a hub of faith, hope, and action.

Plan and coordinate youth ministry programs, including weekly Sunday morning and afternoon services, special activities, and annual mission trips. Work closely with staff and church leaders to facilitate an integrated approach to youth ministry. Recruit, lead, and empower youth ministry teams.

At least two years of leadership experience with youth ministries or programs. Preference for experience in local church ministry. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and familiarity with United Methodist theology. Skill with recruiting, leading, and empowering teams. Strong planning, organizational, and communication skills, including the use of online communication platforms and ministry management tools. Successful background check required before hire.

Compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and work schedule. Benefits include a 403(b) retirement plan with up to a 6% match and continuing education support. Medical and dental insurance and paid leave benefits are available to full‑time employees only. Full‑time or part‑time employment available.
