SUMMARY

The Director works collaboratively with key stakeholders (Life Stage Pastors, Directors, Group Leaders, etc.) to provide guidance to group leaders seeking to grow people through caring for one another and the world, while delivering on the SPBC vision and mission. The Director serves as the primary conduit for developing and facilitating an intentional process to recruit, train, orient and coach group leaders as they help group members care for one another and the world through direct action and advocacy.

This role promotes the scriptural value where we are called to find needs and meet them, find problems and solve them, find hurts and heal them, as we engage together in faith formation, intentional fellowship, congregational care and gifts-based ministry on our campus and/or in the community. The scope of responsibility includes:
Strategic Planning, Program Management, Communication, Brand / Financial Management and Team Leadership. The Director maximizes resources to determine the appropriate path for an effective approach for outreach initiatives, while working collaboratively with key stakeholders to ensure buy-in.

PRIMARY DUTIES (list order does not signify level of importance) Strategic Planning
  • Partners with Pastor and key stakeholders to understand the critical outreach opportunities, aligned to the SPBC vision/mission;
    Gathers critical input(s) to support strategy development
  • Delivers an approach, aligned to the SPBC vision and mission, that optimizes resources and enhances the SBPC brand in the goal of fostering care, both within and outside the SPBC community
  • Collaborates with the staff and ministry partners in planning of annual trainings and retreats.
Program Management
  • Partners with Directors for children, students, worship, faith formation, care, and groups to create, develop, grow and sustain systems that support and encourage every member to live out the values of celebrating (worship), connecting (groups), cultivating (formation), caring (care) and contributing (outreach).
  • Meets regularly with the Life Stage Pastors (LSPs) and other Directors to evaluate the level of effectiveness and progress of Saint Paul’s groups in living out the values of a caring culture.
  • Collaborates with key stakeholders (LSPs, Directors, Outreach Group Leaders, staff, etc.) to develop and maintain an annual program calendar that is based on approved budgets, synchronized with the master events calendar and included on the church’s event scheduling system
  • Develops, communicates and trains on the outreach program approach
    with its related policies and procedures, and continuously keep them up‑to‑date on relevant changes.
  • Utilizes and/or updates, where appropriate, the church’s database to compile and coordinate group leader and member information in concert with other Directors.
  • Utilizes relevant resources and tools to help the Saint Paul’s Baptist Church congregation create, coordinate and execute effective, transformative outreach projects through its small groups. Makes recommendations for new tools or resources, as needed.
  • Manages administrative functions involved in group recruitment, development, projects and reporting to appropriate sources.
Communication
  • Engages with LSPs and Directors to gain insights regarding the operational plans for their respective areas of responsibilities
  • Collaborates with group leaders and staff to advise on the design of caring program opportunities, to include target initiatives, partner organizations and volunteer strategies.
  • Coordinates registration process to include submission of online registration requests, form creation, website posting, form maintenance, check‑in lists, and nametags, where appropriate.
