Rebuilding Together Community Engagement VISTA

Overview

Virginia Housing Alliance’s (VHA) Ameri Corps VISTA program is a statewide intermediary initiative that works with host sites to expand affordable housing opportunities and strengthen housing stability throughout Virginia. This role supports Rebuilding Together Richmond (RT RVA), a nonprofit dedicated to preserving affordable home ownership and revitalizing communities through critical home repairs for low‑income seniors, veterans, families with children, and individuals with disabilities.

• Build on prior capacity efforts by strengthening outreach, volunteer engagement, and partnership systems.
• Expand referral networks, develop structured engagement strategies, and create tools that improve coordination with housing organizations, businesses, and community groups.
• Develop storytelling and communication materials to highlight homeowner, volunteer, and partner experiences.
• Improve data collection and reporting processes to track program outcomes and communicate impact to stakeholders.
