The LPN job commences to integrate technical skills and theoretical knowledge to meet the needs of the patient and family. This role assists the health care team with the prevention of illness and injury, maintenance of wellness, and provision of comfort. This role also provides direction, education, and begins to assume leadership responsibilities at the unit level.
The LPN job delivers and accurately documents direct, age-specific care to a patient or group of patients based on medical orders and an integrated, multidisciplinary plan of care. This role safely administers prescribed medications, identifying incompatibilities and/or interactions.
Location:
Richmond, VA, at the Adult Outpatient Pavilion.
Schedule:
Monday – Friday 8a–4:30p.
- Deliver and document direct, age-specific care to patients based on medical orders and the plan of care.
- Safely administer prescribed medications and identify potential drug incompatibilities or interactions.
- Provide direction and education, and begin to assume leadership responsibilities at the unit level.
- LPN licensure in Virginia or eligible licensure; licensure, certification, or registration requirements vary based on incumbent’s employment background and transitional assignment.
- Current LPN Licensure in Virginia.
- AHA BLS Certification or equivalent.
- REQUIRED:
Varies based on transitional duty assignment. - PREFERRED:
Experience as an LPN in acute care or applicable to the area of practice.
- REQUIRED:
Graduate from a Board of Nursing approved School of Practical Nursing. - PREFERRED: N/A
Follows documented physician/licensed independent provider orders, standards, and practice guidelines such as treatments and organizes work to carry out assignments.
