We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse for the Labor and Delivery unit. This role is responsible for providing high-quality, patient-centered nursing care to mothers and newborns in a fast-paced acute care environment while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe and positive birth experiences.
Responsibilities- Provide direct nursing care to laboring and postpartum patients and newborns
- Monitor maternal and fetal status throughout labor and delivery
- Assist physicians and midwives during deliveries and procedures
- Educate patients and families on labor, delivery, recovery, and newborn care
- Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to clinical protocols
- Participate in emergency response and unit-specific competencies
- Labor and Delivery Nursing

- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required
- Minimum of 1 year of nursing/patient care experience in an acute care setting required
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse by the Virginia Department of Health Professions or Compact State Licensure in Nursing required
- BLS Certification required
- ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications as applicable to unit standards
- New graduates or nurses new to the practice area have up to 1 year to complete specialty requirements
