Overview
Medi Claris Clinical Research is a community-based clinical research site focused on advancing healthcare through high-quality, participant-centered clinical trials. We partner with sponsors and CROs to conduct Phase II–IV studies with a strong emphasis on safety, operational excellence, and compassionate patient care.
Position SummaryThe Infusion Nurse will support study-related infusion visits and participant safety monitoring in accordance with the clinical trial protocol, sponsor requirements, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), and site SOPs. This is an ideal opportunity for an RN with infusion, ICU, oncology, emergency department, research, or biologic therapy experience seeking flexible per diem clinical research work.
Responsibilities- Administer investigational product infusions per protocol and physician orders
- Monitor participants during and after infusions for infusion-related reactions (IRRs)
- Assess and document vital signs, symptoms, and participant tolerance
- Assist with IV placement, infusion preparation, and infusion documentation
- Support emergency response procedures if needed
- Maintain accurate source documentation and nursing notes
- Collaborate closely with the Principal Investigator and research coordinators
- Ensure compliance with protocol requirements, GCP, and participant safety standards
- Assist with participant education and visit flow
- Participate in study-specific training and startup meetings as needed
Required:
- Active RN license in Virginia
- Current BLS certification
- Experience with IV infusions and venous access
- Strong clinical assessment and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a research environment
Preferred:
- ICU, ED, oncology, biologic therapy, or research experience
- ACLS certification
- Experience recognizing and managing infusion reactions
- Familiarity with clinical research or GCP
- Per diem / flexible scheduling based on study visits
- Primarily weekday outpatient hours
- Competitive hourly compensation based on experience
- Training provided for protocol-specific procedures
