Registered Nurse RN Labor and Delivery PRN

Job Summary and Qualifications

We are seeking a highly-skilled, experienced, and compassionate RN to deliver exceptional patient care in our 12-bed labor‑delivery recovery postpartum unit. In this role you will provide direct nursing care to delivering mothers and their newborn babies, acting as a mother’s guide through her stay. • Deliver patient‑centered nursing care and participate in patient and family education.
• Work closely with a multidisciplinary team of nurses, obstetricians, perinatologists, anesthesiologists, IBCLC lactation consultants, OB techs, and patient‑care staff to support the mother and her partner through the labor process.
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient conditions as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems.
• Maintain cultural awareness and professionalism when dealing with patients, visitors, co‑workers, and other customers.

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred).
• Current Registered Nurse License in Virginia or a Current Multistate Compact License.
• At least 1 year of nursing experience in an acute‑care hospital setting.
• At least 1 year of nursing experience in Labor and Delivery.
• Current American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS or BCLS) certification.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
