Director of Nursing; DON

• Develop and implement the written staffing plan that reflects the needs of the department
• Perform rounds to monitor and evaluate the quality of nursing care
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with residents, family members, staff, and the medical team
• Work in partnership with the Administrator to ensure quality, person‑centered care
• Develop, manage, and evaluate department policies and procedures in accordance with current rules and regulations

• Must possess a valid, unencumbered, RN state license
• Nursing degree from an accredited college or university preferred
• Minimum three (3) years of clinical nursing experience within a hospital, nursing care center, or another related healthcare setting
• Experience in supervision and the principles of teaching
• Experience in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices strongly preferred
• Strong communication skills with the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, and the public
• Knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to nursing care facilities
