Schedule:

Monday – Thursday, 1 pm – 11 pm. Four ten‑hour shifts each week.

The Clinical Coordinator facilitates patient flow, coordinates activities and communication for the clinical area nursing unit during the assigned shift. This person serves as a resource and leader for patients, staff, health care providers, administration and other disciplines.

• Facilitate patient flow and coordinate clinical activities in the nursing unit.
• Serve as a resource and leader for patients, staff, providers, administration and other disciplines.
• Ensure patient care is delivered efficiently, caring and courteous.
• Follow documented physician/licensed independent provider orders.
• Characterize work with input from patient/family to achieve specific outcomes.
• Organize and delegate tasks to RN's, LPNs, Care Partners, Unit Secretaries, etc.
• Collaborate with other disciplines to support patient care.

• Follow documented physician/licensed independent provider orders.
• Practice within Virginia nursing regulations.
• Follow ANA Code of Ethics for Nursing and national practice standards.
• Apply VCUHS policies, procedures and practice guidelines.

• Organize work and delegate and supervise nurses, LPNs, care partners, unit secretaries, and other staff.

• Work designated shifts, days of week, and/or holidays based on area.
• Shift rotations and schedules will be established with supervisor.
• Schedules may be adjusted to meet clinical area unit requirements.

• Required: Diploma or Associate’s Degree from a recognized nursing program. Current RN licensure in Virginia. AHA BLS HCP certification or equivalent.
• All registered nurses without a Bachelor’s degree must enroll in an approved RN to BSN program within two years of start and complete within five years.
• Preferred: Academic health‑care experience; experience with similar patient population in acute care;
  Certification in specialty area;
  Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Nursing from an accredited program.

• Minimum 3 years of clinical experience.
• Charge nurse or supervisory experience.
• Academic health‑care experience preferred.
• Experience with similar patient population preferred.

• Current RN licensure in Virginia or eligible compact state.
• Current RN licensure in Virginia; AHA BLS HCP certification or equivalent.

• Lifting 50–100 lbs.
• Exposure to hazardous or infectious substances.
• Prolonged standing, sitting, bending, walking, climbing, reaching.
• Strong recall, reasoning, problem solving, hearing, speaking, writing, reading, logical thinking.
• Ability to handle fast‑pace environment and adapt to frequent change.
