TheOpportunity
This is a rare, full-time on-site Occupational Health Nurse role at a dedicated medical clinic serving one of the region’s largest active construction projects in Richmond, VA. With the project secured for the next five years, this position offers exceptional stability, and compensation is set at the 90th percentile for the role. You’ll work at the center of a high-profile worksite where your care has immediate, visible impact on worker safety and project success.
The RoleAs our Occupational Health Nurse, you’ll be the front-line clinical presence for the workforce—performing injury assessments and first aid, triaging and managing work-related injuries and illnesses, and coordinating care under physician and provider direction. You’ll support return-to-work and case management, administer treatments and vaccinations, and maintain accurate, compliant medical records. You’ll also partner with site safety teams and employers on injury prevention and workplace health initiatives.
What You’ll Bring- Active RN license in the state of Virginia (required); COHN or COHN-S certification strongly preferred
- Experience in occupational health, emergency, urgent care, or industrial/construction settings
- Strong clinical assessment and triage skills, including managing work-related injuries and illnesses
- Familiarity with OSHA recordability, workers’ compensation, and return-to-work processes
- Working knowledge of occupational health regulations, standards, and best practices
- Excellent written and verbal communication for clear documentation and employer consultations
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a healthcare team
- Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems
