Position: Registered Nurse RN - Stony Point Pelvic Health Clinic - Days

Overview

Come join the diverse and fun Multidisciplinary Pelvic Health team! In the Pelvic Health Clinic, we work with a variety of Nurse Practitioners, Pelvic Health Physical Therapists and Medical Doctors. We are seeking a skilled and compassionate RN to join our clinic and play a key role in providing comprehensive healthcare to patients. We care for patients across the life span and offer guidance and support to a wide range of urological, gastrointestinal, and urogynecological issues.

Our clinic hours are Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm. No weekends, holidays or nights are required and our team members enjoy free onsite parking at our Stony Point campus.

Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate mastery of clinical skills and apply knowledge to a specific patient population.
  • Assist the health care team with prevention of illness and injury, maintenance of wellness, and provision of comfort.
  • Recognize changes in patient situations and intervene appropriately; mobilize resources to meet individualized needs of patients and families.
  • Provide direction, education, and assume leadership responsibilities at the unit level.
  • Deliver and accurately document direct, age-specific care based on medical orders and an integrated, multidisciplinary plan of care.
  • Safely administer prescribed medications, identifying incompatibilities and/or interactions.
Clinical Nurse II and III Roles
  • Clinical Nurse II:
    Demonstrates mastery at the unit level; anticipates changes in patient situations and intervenes appropriately; serves as a resource to the team.
  • Clinical Nurse III:
    Demonstrates clinical knowledge, serves as a role model, and provides direction within a clinical setting; collaborates on an integrated plan of care.
Licensure, Certification, Or Registration Requirements for Hire
  • Clin I, Clin II, Clin III:
    Current RN licensure in Virginia or eligible or compact state.
Licensure, Certification, Or Registration Requirements for Continued Employment
  • Clin I, Clin II, Clin III:
    Current RN licensure in Virginia; AHA BLS HCP Certification or equivalent.
Experience
  • Clin I: N/A.
  • Clin II: 12 to 24 months RN experience.
  • Clin III: 3 years of clinical experience.
Experience Preferred
  • Clin I:
    Experience as an LPN, nursing assistant or care partner in an acute care setting or applicable to area of practice.
  • Clin II, Clin III:
    Academic Health Care Experience; experience with similar patient population in acute care or applicable area of practice.
Education/Training
  • Clin I, Clin II, Clin III:
    Diploma or Associates Degree from a professional nursing program recognized and/or approved by the corresponding state’s Board of Nursing.
  • All registered nurses without a Bachelor's degree will be required to enroll in an approved RN to BSN program within two years of the start date and complete within five years unless grandfathered under previous requirements.
Education/Training — Preferred
  • Clin I, Clin II, Clin III:
    Completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (or higher) from an accredited program.
  • Clin III:
    Certification in specialty area.
Independent Actions
  • Follows documented physician/licensed independent provider orders.
  • Practice is within the regulations governing the practice of nursing in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • Practice is guided by the ANA Code of Ethics for Nursing and established national nursing practice standards.
  • All practice is guided by and follows the VCUHS policies and procedures and established practice.
Supervisory Responsibilities (If Applicable)
  • Clin I, Clin II, Clin III:
    Organizes work and delegates and supervises others (RNs, LPNs, Care Partners, Unit Secretaries, etc.) in carrying out assignments.
