Responsibilities
  • Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission to create individualized care plans.
  • Identify patient teaching needs and collaborate with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
  • Ensure accurate, timely documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and responses in the medical record.
  • Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and provide direct patient care utilizing the nursing process.
  • Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
  • Communicate changes in patient’s status to all care providers to maintain continuity of care.
  • Provide direction and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel, ensuring effective delegation.
  • Maintain a safe and supportive environment that promotes patient and employee safety.
  • Contribute positively to unit functions by providing reassurance and support to staff and patients.
  • Assume charge responsibilities as requested after orientation.
  • Pursue professional development through continuing education and self-study.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
  • BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
  • ACLS certification required prior to first shift (CIRH ONLY).
  • Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience required.
  • PCU/Critical Care experience highly desired.
Schedule

This position operates on a day shift, working 3x12 hour shifts.
