Licensed Practical Nurse Responsibilities
The Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for resident care using various nursing competencies such as assessments, care planning, implementation of interventions and evaluation of resident needs and care being provided. Supports CNAs to ensure resident care standards are met and maintained. Must maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
Shift DetailsFull Time, 7:00 p.m.
- 7:15 a.m. (to include every other weekend)
The hiring range for this position is $23.75 to $34.07. Actual compensation depends on experience, skills, and internal equity.
Requirements- Must have strong clinical skills
- Ability and knowledge to care for geriatric residents
- Assess, implement, evaluate and /or re-evaluate resident care needs
- Provide direction and assign daily duties to nursing staff
- Act as a resource for staff concerning resident care and needs and keep management abreast of the status
- Implement physician orders and administer medications and treatments
- Participate and comply with all internal CQI and external regulatory requirements
- Document pertinent information in resident’s chart such as nursing interventions, any problems noted, limitations of resident or significant change in resident’s mood, behavior, affect or cognition
- Meet all documentation standards and follow through with all charting requirements
- Use and adapt to new technologies, including tools, equipment, methods of application, computerized system, SARA communication system (resident call system) and etc., to impact productivity of department and services; keep job-required technical skills up to date
- Collaborates with resident, family and team to formulate individualized care plan
- Work collaboratively with the team and management to coordinate care and manage outcomes
- Implement appropriate care to meet spiritual, physical, psychological and social needs
- Act as an advocate for residents, staff and others and treat others with respect
- Positive attitude and initiative
- Ability to multi-task and work as a team as well as independently
- Ability to walk, stand, reach, bend and squat frequently, lift 25 pounds without assistance, 26+ pounds with manual or mechanical assistance.
- Valid license as a Practical Nurse in the State of Virginia in good standing
- CPR, AED and First Aid Certification
