Registered Nurse (RN) – Pulmonary/Trach Unit Manager

Position Type: Full-Time
Richmond Post Acute is seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) – Pulmonary/Trach Unit Manager to lead our specialized pulmonary and tracheostomy care unit. This leadership role is ideal for an RN who is passionate about delivering exceptional clinical care while mentoring and supporting a dedicated nursing team.

Responsibilities- Provide clinical leadership and daily oversight of the Pulmonary/Trach Unit.
- Supervise, coach, and support Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, and Certified Nursing Assistants.
- Ensure residents receive high-quality, individualized care in accordance with physician orders and facility policies.
- Monitor residents requiring pulmonary, tracheostomy, oxygen therapy, and respiratory-related care.
- Coordinate interdisciplinary care plans with physicians, respiratory therapists, rehabilitation staff, and other healthcare professionals.
- Conduct nursing assessments and ensure accurate documentation.
- Monitor infection prevention practices and maintain regulatory compliance.
- Investigate incidents, address clinical concerns, and implement quality improvement initiatives.
- Participate in staff education, orientation, competency evaluations, and performance coaching.
- Ensure compliance with state, federal, and facility regulations.
- Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharge planning as needed.
- Promote a positive, resident-centered culture focused on teamwork and clinical excellence.
- Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Virginia.
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, subacute rehabilitation, or acute care preferred.
- Previous leadership, charge nurse, or unit manager experience preferred.
- Experience caring for residents with tracheostomies, pulmonary conditions, ventilators, or respiratory therapy strongly preferred.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational abilities.
- Current CPR/BLS certification.
