Registered Nurse (RN) - Behavioral Health Unit - Richmond Community Hospital - PRN Job Summary

The Psychiatric Registered Nurse (RN) provides compassionate, high-quality nursing care in a behavioral health unit, ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment for patients.

Responsibilities
  • Direct patient care as per provider’s plan of care, monitoring progress.
  • Assess and document patient conditions, reporting changes as needed.
  • Administer medications, insulin, and IV fluids, documenting thoroughly.
  • Inspect wounds, change dressings, assist with personal hygiene.
  • Apply effective interviewing skills to gather information from patients and families.
  • Assess for injuries, infections, bedsores, and deliver appropriate treatments.
  • Collaborate with providers, aides, and allied health professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.
Education & Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred).
  • Current state licensure (or covered compact licensure) as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) (preferred upon hire; must obtain prior to direct patient care). Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) acceptable in lieu of BLS.
  • One (1) year of professional experience as an RN.
  • Recent behavioral health experience (preferred, not required).
Salary Range

Minimum: $34.33, Maximum: $44.63.

Training
  • EPIC Electronic Health Record training (preferred, not required).
  • De‑Escalation training (preferred, not required).
