Registered Nurse (RN) - Behavioral Health Unit - Richmond Community Hospital - PRN Job Summary
The Psychiatric Registered Nurse (RN) provides compassionate, high-quality nursing care in a behavioral health unit, ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment for patients.
Responsibilities- Direct patient care as per provider’s plan of care, monitoring progress.
- Assess and document patient conditions, reporting changes as needed.
- Administer medications, insulin, and IV fluids, documenting thoroughly.
- Inspect wounds, change dressings, assist with personal hygiene.
- Apply effective interviewing skills to gather information from patients and families.
- Assess for injuries, infections, bedsores, and deliver appropriate treatments.
- Collaborate with providers, aides, and allied health professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred).
- Current state licensure (or covered compact licensure) as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) (preferred upon hire; must obtain prior to direct patient care). Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) acceptable in lieu of BLS.
- One (1) year of professional experience as an RN.
- Recent behavioral health experience (preferred, not required).
Minimum: $34.33, Maximum: $44.63.
Training- EPIC Electronic Health Record training (preferred, not required).
- De‑Escalation training (preferred, not required).
