How You’ll Make an Impact

As a Transplant Coordinator, you will provide input and facilitate donor referral, clinical management, and organ recovery processes to maximize transplantable organs and tissues. You will complete medical and legal documentation, communicate with hospital development for donor follow‑up, and make appropriate decisions regarding case complexity, escalating as needed.

What You’ll Do
  • Evaluate referrals for organ and tissue donor suitability based on LNH, OPTN/UNOS, AOPO, CDC guidelines and other regulatory requirements, ensuring timely allocation in accordance with policies.
  • Conduct donor evaluations and physiological management, including medical and social history review, hemodynamic stability assessment, and optimization of organ function prior to recovery; identify organ‑specific and behavioral risk factors.
  • Preserve organs and tissue per LNH and national standards, ensuring maximum viability for transplantation; provide a sensitive and compassionate donation option to next‑of‑kin; coordinate logistics between Life Net Health and transplant centers; maintain records per confidentiality standards and complete the donor EMR record accurately and timely.
  • Provide training and mentoring to new staff, serving as a preceptor and role‑modeling advanced nursing professionalism, ethical decision‑making, critical thinking, and problem‑solving.
Minimum Requirements
  • Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Two (2) years critical care experience in Medical, Surgical Trauma, Thoracic, Cardiovascular, Cardiac, Pediatric, or ER settings
  • Two (2) years clinical experience as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Valid State Driver’s License
  • Valid RN License, active and in good standing with the issuing state board, maintained throughout tenure
Preferred Experience / Skills / Certifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
  • Certified Procurement Transplant Coordinator Certification
  • Four (4) years critical care experience in Medical, Surgical Trauma, Thoracic, Cardiovascular, Cardiac, Pediatric, or ER settings
  • Four (4) years clinical experience as a Registered Nurse (RN)
Key Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Manage stressful situations involving complex clinical scenarios and family dynamics; experience in medical compliance and data sharing preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, Microsoft Suite); knowledge of grief/family counseling or bereavement services preferred.
  • Attention to detail, ensuring thorough and accurate work with early/on‑time delivery.
  • Independent work ability with knowledge of human anatomy and physiology; effective communication of this knowledge.
  • Collaborate verbally and in writing; build relationships with professionals at all levels; presentation experience preferred.
  • Time management and multitasking in a fast‑paced environment; prioritize competing projects and manage interdependencies and risks.
  • Critical thinking; make independent decisions regarding medical management of organ donors, staff triage, logistical arrangements, and organ allocation.
  • Logical analysis; solve problems step‑by‑step and look beyond obvious solutions.
  • Teamwork; work collaboratively to resolve issues, complete tasks, and meet business needs.

Compensation

Salary Range: $75,841 – $101,121*

Final compensation will be based on factors such as geographic location, qualifications, and prior relevant experience. Actual compensation may be higher based on the successful candidate’s knowledge and relevant experience.
