Job Summary and Qualifications

HCA Healthcare Residency Program at Parham Doctors' Hospital is a year‑long paid program designed to give graduate nurses hands‑on experience and develop clinical and critical thinking skills. Participants receive advanced clinical training, monthly educational sessions, preceptorships, simulation evaluations, mentorship from nurse leaders, and an evidence‑based practice project.

Flexible start dates are available. Shift schedules depend on unit needs at the time of hire.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess patient condition during admission and each scheduled shift, identifying and reporting any changes in status.
  • Perform procedures and monitoring as ordered by the medical provider(s) and document care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
  • Administer prescribed medications, monitor therapeutic response, and intervene with the provider if an unintended response occurs.
  • Respond promptly to patient requests, proactively anticipating needs and resolving them.
  • Teach patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, side effects, and follow‑up measures, translating complex terminology into clear language.
Required Qualifications
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) obtained within 30 days of employment.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) obtained within one year of employment.
  • Other certifications may be required during employment.
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
  • Registered Nurse license or Graduate Nurse in the state.
  • No previous experience required.
  • Some travel may be needed for training.
