Full-Time Day Shift.

• Provide therapeutic care to patients in the medical surgical and trauma unit, treating cardiac, respiratory, renal, and other conditions.
• Assess acute changes in patients, monitor and analyze heart rhythms, interpret ECGs, note arrhythmias, and intervene in emergency situations.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor vital signs in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols, working closely with a multidisciplinary team of nurses, providers, cardiac specialists and patient care staff.
• During each shift, monitor, record and communicate patient conditions using our computerized documentation systems.
• Coordinate patient discharge planning with members of the healthcare team and participate in patient/family education.
• Maintain cultural awareness and professionalism when interacting with patients, visitors, co-workers, and other customers.

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred).
• Current Registered Nurse License in Virginia or Current Multistate Compact License.
• 1 year of nursing experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred.
• Current American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS or BCLS) Certification.
