American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a NICU position at a teaching hospital requiring 2 years of NICU experience, travel experience, and Epic charting proficiency.
Details- Level III/IV Neonatal ICU setting within a teaching hospital
- Cares for neonates ranging from 34 weeks
- Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-7:00)
- Epic EMR experience required, no exceptions
- Candidates will float within scope as needed
- 13-week assignment length
- Active RN license, VA or compact state, required in hand at time of consideration
- Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- BLS and NRP certifications required
- BSN preferred
- Epic charting experience required
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Skilled in IV therapy, arterial and central line management, UAC/UVC care, and administration of blood products
- Experience with ventilator management, high frequency ventilation, and oscillators preferred
- Experience with neonatal conditions such as NEC, gastroschisis/omphalocele, and neonatal abstinence syndrome
- 2 professional references (supervisor level or above) required for consideration
- Responsibilities include neonatal dosage calculations, thermoregulation, developmental care, and patient/family teaching
- Provides care for conditions such as respiratory distress syndrome, neonatal sepsis, and seizure disorders
- Facility maintains a natural nail policy
- Drug and tobacco-free, smoke-free workplace
- Candidates will complete unit-specific orientation modules during onboarding week
- Facility reviews all background check results prior to start
- Local candidates accepted at the same base rate with no radius restrictions
- Both travelers and former permanent staff must have a gap of at least one year before returning to the facility
- No time off granted during the first week of assignment; all other RTO must be submitted and approved by the unit manager
- Candidates must not exceed 40 hours per week unless approved by the unit manager
