American Traveler is hiring an experienced Labor & Delivery RN with current NRP, BLS, and intermediate fetal monitoring certification for a 13-week assignment in Richmond, VA.

• Work in a 16-bed LDR unit with 3 OR, 3 Triage, and 3 Recovery Room beds
• Unit staffs 1 charge RN, 12 RNs, and 2-3 surgical techs on day shift, and 1 charge RN, 6-7 RNs, and 1 surgical tech on night shift
• AWHONN patient ratios targeted, ranging from 1:1 to 3:1 depending on acuity
• Uses Novii monitors, iMobile, headsets, pass-through skin-to-skin C-section drapes, deep soaker tubs, light therapy, and aroma therapy
• EMR systems used are CPN and Meditech
• Shift runs 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• 13-week assignment length

• Active VA or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and NRP (Advanced 9th Edition) certifications required
• Current intermediate AWHONN fetal heart monitoring certification within the past 2 years required
• Minimum 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery experience required
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be considered
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration (Canadian SSNs not accepted)
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

• Responsibilities include labor, delivery, recovery, triage, antepartum care, and circulating for C-sections
• Provide first-hour baby care (excluding admission assessment, eye and thigh procedures) and breastfeeding assistance
• 24/7 in-house coverage provided by hospitalists, midwives, anesthesia, and neonatologists
• Experience at facilities with more than 3,000 births per year preferred
• Cultural diversity and patient-centered care valued as key personality fits
• Navy blue scrubs required with closed-toe shoes, and tattoos/piercings must be covered
• Unit has received multiple Health grades awards for Labor and Delivery excellence
