This job serves as an administrative resource and performs management functions on the non‑business hours (evenings, nights, holidays and weekends) for the institution. It assists hospital staff in problem‑solving service delivery issues between and within departments, provides an administrative presence to address patient/family issues related to service delivery, identifies systems problems during non‑business hours that contribute to service delivery issues, and assists staff in problem‑solving related to the medical and/or nursing care of patients.

• Licensure: Current RN licensure in Virginia or eligible/compact state
• Certification: AHA BLS HCP Certification or equivalent
• Experience required: Minimum of five (5) years of acute care clinical experience; minimum of two (2) years of nursing management experience.
  Preferred: Nurse Manager or Supervisory experience;
  Academic health care experience
• Education required: Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing from an accredited School of Nursing.
  Preferred: Master’s Degree in Nursing or related field from an accredited program
• Responsibilities:
  • Works with a small team to provide coverage for evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
  
  • Identifies system problems
  
  • Assists staff with patient care issues
  
  • Maintains administrative presence during off‑shift periods
• Physical requirements: Lifting less than 20 lbs; exposure to hazardous and infectious substances; prolonged sitting, frequent bending, walking, climbing, reaching, repetitive motion; strong recall, reasoning, problem solving, hearing, speaking clearly, writing legibly, logical thinking; able to handle multiple priorities and adapt to frequent change in a noisy environment
