Rhino Medical is leading the charge seeking experienced Nurse Practitioners for ongoing locum tenens coverage across multiple Richmond, Virginia-area Urgent Care locations
.

This opportunity is designed for NPs comfortable practicing across the full spectrum of outpatient urgent care. Providers work a concentrated three-shift-per-week schedule in established clinics equipped for onsite diagnostics and procedures, caring for patients from newborns through geriatrics
. Both locum tenens and locum-to-permanent pathways are available.

Opportunity Highlights
  • Clinics open 7 days/week, 8:00 AM-8:00 PM
  • Approximately 12-hour shifts
  • No call
  • Multiple locations throughout the greater Richmond area
  • Approximately 25-50 patients per day
  • Newborn through geriatric patient population
  • Epic EMR
  • Comprehensive acute illness, injury and procedural scope

Urgent Care Practice

This is a hands-on clinical opportunity for experienced NPs comfortable independently evaluating and treating the broad range of illnesses and injuries encountered in a busy Urgent Care environment.

Providers should be prepared to manage patients presenting throughout clinic hours and recognize higher-acuity conditions requiring stabilization and transfer to the Emergency Department.

Clinical Scope Includes
  • Acute illnesses and injuries
  • Simple, intermediate and complex laceration repair
  • Incision and drainage, including packing
  • Minor burns and skin lesions
  • Orthopedic injuries
  • Splinting and casting
  • Joint reductions
  • Epistaxis management, including anterior packing or chemical cautery
  • Initial emergency stabilization and appropriate ED transfer
  • X-ray interpretation
  • EKG evaluation
  • Strep, influenza, COVID-19 and RSV testing
  • Urinalysis
  • Blood glucose testing
  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
  • Board Certified
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in Emergency Medicine, Urgent Care or Primary Care
  • Comfortable performing the required urgent care procedures
  • Comfortable evaluating patients across the lifespan, from newborns through geriatrics
