Anticipated Starting Salary Range: $51,500 - $65,000

The State Corporation Commissions (SCC) seeks a motivated and public service-oriented Quality Assurance Specialist to join our Clerks Office Quality Assurance (QA) and Testing team. This position will perform system testing, quality assurance, data validation, and quality control for the Clerks Office systems. The QA Specialist will also collaborate with other state agencies as well as internal and external partners to ensure all Clerks Office systems are operating as expected.
The position works a hybrid schedule (generally 3 days of telework and 2 days in office each week) plus opportunities for professional development and career growth.
- Performing system testing, quality assurance, quality control, and data validation measures for the Clerks Office. Work also includes conducting analyses of processes, services, and output, conducting internal assessments and audits, and enhancing the accuracy of records.
- Assisting with the development and establishment of quality assurance measures and testing standards for new applications and products, as well as enhancements to existing applications throughout their development/product life cycles.
- Preparing and delivering reports, recommendations, or alternatives addressing existing or potential trouble areas in IT systems and projects across the division.
- Conducting assessments of applications and/or systems under consideration for purchase.
- Conducting internal audits to measure and assure adherence to established QA standards for software development, application integration, information system performance, and corresponding documentation.
- Working with software/systems personnel in application testing, such as system unit, regression, load, and acceptance testing methods.
- Communicating test progress, test results, and other relevant information to project stakeholders and management.
- Testing new software to ensure it meets the needs of the Clerks Office.
- Reviewing and analyzing formal test results in order to discover and report any defects, bugs, errors, configuration issues and interoperability flaws.
- Assisting with the development of change control processes, practices and guidelines for new and existing technologies.
- Assisting with the coordination of Quality Assurance, Testing, and Validation with CLK leadership to ensure QA meets the division's needs.
- Assisting with the monitoring of Contact Center calls to identify needed scripts for staff and any procedures that may need to be updated or improved.
- Performing related work as required.
