Responsibilities- Perform laboratory experiments and tests using standard methodology, interpreting results and conducting analyses to support product and process research and development.
- Prepare and analyze metals and non‑metals in various organic and aqueous matrices, performing wet chemistry and advanced elemental speciation analyses.
- Use ICP AES, ICP‑MS, and hyphenated techniques such as GC‑ICP‑MS, LC‑ICP‑MS, LA‑ICP‑MS, titration, wet chemistry, elemental combustion analysis, and XRF.
- Manage a high sample volume laboratory, ensuring fast turnaround times and setting test methods for aqueous and organic media.
- Prepare samples and perform standard and non‑standard analytical measurements using elemental combustion and wet chemistry methods.
- Review large volumes of data, interpret quality control, and apply proper planning and organization skills.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, peers, facility support, project customers, and suppliers; document experiments, data, and analyses in laboratory notebooks and spreadsheets.
- Write standard operating procedures, technical reports, peer‑review articles, and presentations.

- Maintain a passion for safety.
- Minimum 2 years of demonstrated experience in an analytical laboratory.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Chemistry, environmental chemistry, biochemistry, or a STEM related field.
- Advanced degree in Chemistry.
- Previous Chevron or petroleum industry laboratory experience.
- Excellent manual dexterity and visual acuity for handling tiny objects with precision tools.
- Ability to maintain and troubleshoot laboratory apparatus.
- Strong verbal and written communication, multitasking, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to keep information organized and confidential.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Hands‑on wet chemistry and elemental combustion analysis experience.
Salary range: $67,700 – $101,500. Additional variable pay, health care coverage, retirement plans, protection coverage, time off, training and development opportunities, and allowances may apply.
