Research And Development Chemist

We are looking for an R&D Chemist to join our team on-site in Richmond, VA!

In this role, you will take ownership of the creative and technical aspects of product development categories—managing projects from initial inception and formulation all the way through to manufacturing scale-up.

• Innovate & Develop: Independently manage product development projects from bench to scale-up, ensuring formulas align perfectly with customer briefs.
• Formulate & Test: Create, refine, and characterize formulation trials, conducting critical stability testing on all formulas.
• Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner with R&D Formulation Managers, Quality, Technical Transfer, and Operations to ensure seamless transitions to manufacturing.
• Manage Data: Build detailed Bills of Materials (BOM) and maintain precise traceability of lab trials within our R&D systems (COPTIS).

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific field.
• Experience: 2+ years of progressive laboratory experience (including hands‑on college lab work or internships). A Master’s degree with 1–3 years of experience is also highly valued!
• Skills: Strong foundational knowledge in formulation, problem‑solving, and laboratory systems.
• Bonus Points: Prior experience or knowledge in Aerosol formulation is a major plus!
