The Department of Medicinal Chemistry at Virginia Commonwealth University is currently seeking a passionate and driven postdoctoral fellow in the lab of Dr. Shijun Zhang. This research program is focused on small molecule compounds as potential probes and therapeutics for neurodegenerative disorders. The postdoctoral research fellow will be involved and conduct research to design and synthesize small molecule compounds as potential probes and therapeutics for neurodegenerative disorders.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Successful candidate must hold a PhD in organic synthesis, or synthetic medicinal chemistry or a related area.
- The candidates must have the ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative research group.
- Demonstrated experience working in and fostering an environment of respect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from various backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU.
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong experience in synthetic medicinal chemistry and cell biology.
Salary Range: $59,000
