and exercise‑based cardiovascular disease prevention.
The Pauley Heart Center is seeking applicants for an hourly, short‑term Research Assistant position. This position will support cardiovascular research activities by assisting research staff with participant enrollment, data collection and management, regulatory documentation, and study coordination. The Research Assistant will work closely with research coordinators, investigators, clinical staff, and study participants to facilitate successful completion of research projects.
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to prioritize work requirements to keep projects moving forward
- Ability to troubleshoot issues with assistance of supervisor; ability to obtain any required certifications in order to complete assignment (i.e. CITI, GCP etc.)
- Competency working with standard office computing programs (i.e. MS Word, Excel, PPT)
- Good communication skills
- US citizen or permanent residency or approved work Visa for the length of the assignment
- High school degree or equivalent
- Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment of respect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU.
- Previous experience with health science related research
- Academic preparation in the area of health sciences or other appropriate academic area as applicable to the specific project
- Familiarity with clinical research processes and regulatory requirements.
