Department SummaryThe Data Analyst will support cancer prevention and control initiatives by managing datasets, conducting statistical analyses, generating actionable insights, and producing reports that inform program strategy, policy decisions, and operational improvements. The analyst will work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment and contribute to data‑driven decision‑making across research and public health projects.
Duties & ResponsibilitiesData management — Clean, organize, and maintain datasets from clinical trials, epidemiological studies, and community‑based research.
Statistical analysis — Apply biostatistical and quantitative methods to evaluate trends, outcomes, and program effectiveness.
Reporting & visualization — Create dashboards, visualizations, and written reports to communicate findings to internal teams and external partners.
Research question translation — Convert scientific aims into measurable variables, analytic plans, and interpretable outputs.
Cross‑functional collaboration — Work with researchers, clinicians, and policy teams to understand data needs and deliver insights.
Quality assurance — Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and compliance with institutional and federal guidelines.
Professional development — Participate in training, workshops, and team meetings to strengthen analytic and communication skills.
Minimum Qualifications
Advanced degree with strong analytical training
Demonstrated interest in health‑related data analysis
- U.S. citizen or permanent resident status (per NIH T32 eligibility requirements)
- Prior research experience in cancer prevention, control, or related population sciences
- Experience or interest in clinical trials, community‑engaged research, or implementation science
- Evidence of research productivity (e.g., abstracts, presentations, publications)
- Strong quantitative, analytical, or methodological skills
$38.46/hour
