and Responsibilities

The Center for Biomarker Research and Precision Medicine (BPM, (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below).) at Virginia Commonwealth University is seeking a postdoctoral research fellow to join our team. Our research program aims to alleviate the substantial personal, familial, and societal burden of mental illness and substance use disorders by leveraging state-of-the-art molecular technologies to advance disease understanding and develop novel therapeutics.
We conducted large-scale single-nucleus transcriptomic and methylation studies in human samples to investigate psychiatric and substance use disorders. The successful candidate will perform statistical and bioinformatic analyses of these data, contribute to the development and optimization of analytical pipelines, and publish findings in leading scientific journals.
This multidisciplinary and collaborative project involves both local and external partners. The position is initially for two years and offers excellent opportunities for publication and career development.

Position Qualifications

Candidates must hold a PhD in bioinformatics, data science, statistics, psychiatric genetics or a related field. Applicants should possess excellent written English skills and a strong publication record demonstrating primary responsibility for drafting manuscripts. Expertise in Linux/Unix and R or Python is essential.

Salary Range $63,480- $77,076
