Overview

The District Mentor (District Sales Manager) is a strategic people leader responsible for coaching a team of field salon consultants to build dynamic opportunities across our salon business accounts. By executing high‑level business and sales practices, the District Mentor will drive district success and contribute to the overall growth and profitability of Salon Centric.

People Leadership Accountabilities
  • Utilize demonstrated people leadership and development skills to enhance your team’s business acumen in multi‑branded distribution networks.
  • Demonstrate and coach strategic high‑level business and sales practices to drive sustainable growth and profitability.
  • Build and influence internal partnerships with brand and education leaders to align with OMNI business objectives.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans that identify growth opportunities and set clear goals for the team and district.
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders to create OMNI‑focused opportunities that drive business results.
  • Support and guide team members in identifying, prospecting, and securing new partnerships.
  • Lead team members in building brand awareness and increasing sales volume in alignment with company objectives.
  • Proactively coach and strategize with team members to foster an add‑value mindset.
  • Spend a minimum of 2–3 days in the field with each team.
  • Establish external and internal cross‑functional relationships with store divisions, salon development executives, and brands.
Sales Responsibilities
  • Spend a minimum of 3 days in the field supporting OMNI commercial growth and engaging with key accounts.
  • Conduct independent quarterly business reviews and strategy sessions with each team member.
  • Use strategic business planning for promotional fund allocation and monitor overall district spend.
  • Participate in and facilitate monthly, quarterly, and annual action meetings.
  • Determine weekly trend projections, communicate strategies, and track performance to meet budget.
  • Engage with company CRM tools, manage daily operational tasks, and maintain sales reports.
  • Monitor sales performance data, identify improvement areas, and implement corrective actions.
  • Provide regular updates to internal stakeholders on partner program effectiveness.
  • Prioritize and proactively manage time‑sensitive activities, including customer issues and administrative tasks.
  • Support sales through education and promotional events such as area classes, company shows, workshops, and in‑salon education.
Training and Education Responsibilities
  • Develop the team’s business acumen around multi‑branded distribution networks.
  • Foster strong internal partnerships with brand and education leaders for strategic initiatives.
  • Identify and leverage individual strengths within the team to achieve company goals.
  • Focus on business development, education, and upskilling opportunities for the team.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and adjust sales strategies accordingly.
  • Encourage technology upskilling and coach the team to use company tools and systems.
  • Develop long‑term growth plans with the team for existing salons and new customers.
  • Comply with company policies to maximize sales profits.
Qualifications
  • Outside Field Sales experience required.
  • A Bachelor’s degree or MBA with a focus on business or marketing is strongly preferred.
  • Three to five years of relevant sales experience and a minimum of 2 years in people management are preferred.
  • Strong people leadership, coaching, and mentoring experience.
  • Ability to build a cohesive team with belonging, camaraderie, and accountability.
  • Ability to celebrate wins, provide constructive feedback, and share best practices.
  • Exceptional customer service, listening, negotiation, and persuasive skills.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills; working knowledge of MS Office, Salesforce, and social networking platforms.
  • High emotional intelligence and relationship‑building ability.
  • Sound judgment, strategic decision making, and analytical ability.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management.
