As a Mechanical Project Sales professional, you will:
Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Project/Sales Engineer to prospect, qualify, design, propose, and sell mechanical projects and services. This role focuses on HVAC/R, air distribution system cleaning, air balancing, thermography, energy solutions, indoor air quality, and related services. The Project/Sales Engineer will work closely with the Sales Team and Operations Group to ensure seamless project execution and long-term client satisfaction.
Note:
This is not an estimating position pursuing the bid market. Instead, this role emphasizes building relationships with existing businesses and accounts while generating proposals for equipment replacement, renovation, and design-build opportunities.
- Prospect, qualify, and develop new and existing accounts.
- Survey building systems, interpret drawings, and evaluate equipment conditions.
- Perform load calculations; size piping and ductwork; and select appropriate equipment.
- Identify opportunities for repair, replacement, or modification of existing systems.
- Prepare and present proposals for equipment replacement, renovations, and design-build projects.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure projects are delivered successfully, on time, and within budget.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term customer relationships.
- Stay current with industry standards, technologies, and energy-efficient solutions.
- Strong understanding of HVAC and mechanical systems.
- Ability to design piping and duct systems.
- Field experience installing commercial HVAC equipment.
- Familiarity with mechanical, electrical, wiring, and automatic control systems.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, equipment conditions, job conditions, and potential issues.
- 10+ years of experience in mechanical project sales or a related field.
- Proven ability to design and oversee HVAC piping and ductwork systems.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and customer service skills.
- Track record of developing and maintaining long-term client relationships.
- Innovative mindset with the ability to enhance sales and marketing strategies.
- Compensation: $95,000 – $115,000 (plus sales commission)
- Territory:
Williamsburg / Hampton Roads area - Company vehicle, fuel card, purchasing card, and company cell phone.
