Role DescriptionThe Business Development Specialist is a full-time, hybrid role based in Richmond, VA. This position is responsible for identifying and qualifying new business opportunities, conducting market and industry research, and generating leads through outbound and inbound activities. Day-to-day tasks include building and maintaining relationships with prospective clients, preparing proposals and presentations, and collaborating with internal teams to align solutions with customer needs.
The specialist will track and report on sales pipeline activity, support contract negotiations, and ensure a positive customer experience throughout the business development process.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data and market trends to inform business decisions.
- Excellent communication abilities, including clear verbal and written communication and effective presentation skills.
- Lead generation experience, including prospecting, qualifying opportunities, and managing a sales pipeline.
- Market research skills, including gathering competitive intelligence and understanding customer segments.
- Customer service skills, with a focus on building rapport, resolving concerns, and supporting long-term client relationships.
- Relevant qualifications include prior experience in business development, sales, or account management, preferably in a mechanical services environment.
- Additional beneficial qualifications include familiarity with CRM software, strong organizational skills, goal orientation, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
