The Role
The Oncology Account Manager builds and maintains strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders in private practice, medical group practices, hospitals/academic medical centers, office, and ancillary staff involved in cancer patient care. The role represents Genmab’s values by providing approved disease and product information to key decision makers in the assigned territory.
The assigned territory covers Richmond, Fairfax, and Norfolk, VA. Candidates must live within commuting distance.
Responsibilities- Support Genmab’s oncology portfolio in the U.S. marketplace.
- Meet or exceed assigned sales goals by positioning product benefits to eligible patients.
- Manage time by focusing on engagements that drive brand value.
- Develop and implement robust territory business plans to meet productivity requirements.
- Flex between virtual and in-person engagements using a communication plan that aligns with account preferences.
- Analyze market data and apply insights to business planning.
- Build long‑term relationships with customers, providing value‑based solutions.
- Represent Genmab brands professionally, compliantly and ethically.
- Demonstrate deep knowledge of disease states, Genmab products and competitors, articulating value across all communication channels.
- Show expertise in reimbursement and fulfillment pathways for injectable medications.
- Display superior territory management and selling competencies.
- Find creative ways to gain access to modern customer landscapes.
- Share knowledge and support team success.
- Manage territory resources and budget.
- Comply with all applicable laws, regulations and company policies.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- 4+ years of experience in sales, marketing, or clinical roles.
- 4+ years of proven success in oncology sales or account management.
- Oncology launch experience preferred.
- Strong account‑management, sales, and performance track record.
- Strong business‑analytics skills to develop and adjust territory plans.
- Expertise in building and maintaining professional relationships with key customers and office staff.
- Ability to work effectively in matrix teams.
- Track record of driving self‑to‑drive and enhancing performance.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, Veeva, etc.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Commitment to high ethical standards and industry regulations.
