Associate Director, Oncology Key Accounts

Field‑based account management position responsible for large Oncology group practices and integrated delivery networks with a focus on Oncology and Hematology in the Mid‑Atlantic geography (Maryland, Washington D.C., and Virginia). The candidate must reside within this geography.

Primary Activities & Responsibilities Leadership
  • Builds and maintains trust with colleagues, stakeholders, and customers through effective communication, integration, and collaboration.
  • Leads through challenging and ambiguous situations, ensuring deadlines and objectives are met by prioritizing tasks based on urgency, impact, and resource availability.
  • Influences others and leads without authority during complex situations, fostering collaborative problem‑solving and reaching consensus across multiple teams or stakeholders.
Clinical Proficiency
  • Provides approved disease and product information to key decision makers and stakeholders within accounts.
  • Maximizes appropriate utilization of the company’s portfolio while delivering resources that contribute to better patient outcomes.
  • Aligns and tailors responses to external quality initiatives, using approved company resources and messages.
  • Understands treatment decision factors, including pathways, protocols, sites of care, guidelines, and quality initiatives.
Business Acumen
  • Uses internal data and analytics to understand account performance and identify engagement opportunities.
  • Knows the account ecosystem and emerging market and business trends impacting assigned accounts, developing coordinated and longitudinal account plans.
  • Understands the B2B market dynamics, including competitive landscape, industry trends, and economic conditions, and applies approved messages and resources with appropriate healthcare business partners.
  • Coordinates with local account teams to ensure contract pull‑through and address local requests for contract terms or conditions.
Operational/Account Management
  • Establishes a strategic approach to the account aligned with marketing guidance, aligning brand strategy and tactics with customer needs to improve patient health outcomes.
  • Builds trust and relationships with key decision makers and stakeholders to understand their objectives, goals, and challenges, identifying approved resources that align with the customer's needs and understanding access points and stakeholders influencing enterprise access.
  • Uses approved tools to capture, share, and appropriately communicate customer information internally.
Qualifications Required
  • Bachelor’s Degree or a minimum of high school diploma with at least 4 years of relevant work experience (sales, marketing, military, or healthcare/scientific field).
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in healthcare, life sciences industry, sales, account management, or managed care.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to build and develop meaningful customer relationships with senior healthcare executives and key opinion leaders.
  • Demonstrated financial acumen with ability to communicate value proposition and negotiate, if applicable.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare ecosystem.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills across cultures and disciplines.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to collaborate in cross‑functional, matrix organizations.
  • Ability to travel approximately 50% of the time.
Preferred
  • Advanced degree.
  • Local market relationships and customer knowledge.
  • Current account management experience in large Oncology group practices and integrated delivery networks focused on Oncology and Hematology.
Compensation and Benefits

Salary range: $ – $ (combined base salary and variable incentives). Salary is determined by education, qualifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business needs.
