This opportunity is for an Analyst I – Volatiles in our Richmond, VA laboratory.

- Preparation of samples for GC analysis
- Analysis of samples by GC analysis
- Preparation of reagents for lab use and/or shipment
- Maintaining organized records of sample preparation and analysis
- Overhead projects to improve efficiency or accuracy of analyses
- Assisting Group Leaders and analysts in acquiring and inventorying consumables, chemicals, and parts for instrumentation
- Compliance with Enthalpy’s Quality Assurance Program and other policies
- Compliance with Enthalpy’s Health and Safety Plan
- Other duties as assigned by the Group Leader or Lab Director
Note: This position may be required for 24 hour support of the team during certain analyses.
Your Expertise & SkillsTo perform this job successfully, individuals must be able to perform each duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Associates degree or higher in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, or related field
- At least 1 year of relevant experience in a professional setting
- An Analyst I will be able to perform much of their work independently, but needs direction from a Group Leader or more senior analyst to execute most effectively
- Knowledge of LIMS, analytical methods, analytical instruments, general lab practices and lab safety
- Must be flexible in work schedule and able to work overtime when needed
- Well organized with attention to detail
- Good organization and communication skills
