This opportunity is for an Analyst I – Volatiles in our Richmond, VA laboratory.

• Preparation of samples for GC analysis
• Analysis of samples by GC analysis
• Preparation of reagents for lab use and/or shipment
• Maintaining organized records of sample preparation and analysis
• Overhead projects to improve efficiency or accuracy of analyses
• Assisting Group Leaders and analysts in acquiring and inventorying consumables, chemicals, and parts for instrumentation
• Compliance with Enthalpy’s Quality Assurance Program and other policies
• Compliance with Enthalpy’s Health and Safety Plan
• Other duties as assigned by the Group Leader or Lab Director

Note: This position may be required for 24 hour support of the team during certain analyses.

To perform this job successfully, individuals must be able to perform each duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

• Associates degree or higher in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, or related field
• At least 1 year of relevant experience in a professional setting

• An Analyst I will be able to perform much of their work independently, but needs direction from a Group Leader or more senior analyst to execute most effectively
• Knowledge of LIMS, analytical methods, analytical instruments, general lab practices and lab safety
• Must be flexible in work schedule and able to work overtime when needed
• Well organized with attention to detail
• Good organization and communication skills
