A Day in the Life As a Lab Technician I in our Richmond, VA lab , you’ll be responsible for assisting multiple projects where you will have increasing interaction with our multi-disciplinary staff, regulatory agencies and clients. You will be part of a strong team of committed professionals.
The compensation range for this role is $18.00 to $20.00 , commensurate with experience, skills, and geographic location.
Schedule:
Monday - Friday with occasional overtime.
To thrive in this role, you’ll be comfortable taking ownership of the following responsibilities:
Receives environmental samples into the laboratory according to Onterris SOPsPerforms data entry of sample and test information into Laboratory Information System (LIMS)
Label sample containers, store them in appropriate locations and/or contact the proper department to inform them of short holding time and/or rush requests.
Assists in sample bottle preparation
Assists in sample management/archiving and disposal
Assists in sample pickup or field sampling, if needed
Assists in the coordination of daily field sampling/pickup schedule, if needed
Participates in focus teams to improve efficiency
Comply with Onterris Quality Assurance Program and Health & Safety Plan Other duties as assigned

High School Diploma or GED. Associate’s degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic/vocational qualifications preferred.
Some lab experience is preferred but not required.
Must pass screen drug testing
Proficient in computers and database software
Knowledge of general lab practices and lab safety
Able to multi-task and communicate effectively (both oral and written)
Able to work independently and make sound decisions
Well organized and have an attention to detail

Physical Requirements The physical and environmental requirements below reflect what’s typically needed to perform the essential functions of this role safely and effectively. Lifting 50 pounds several times a day Overhead lifting of over 20 pounds
