Evening weekend shifts (4pm-12am at both Midlothian and Chester campuses) and midnight shifts (12am-8am primarily at the Chester campus). Midnight shifts are eligible for shift differential of $1.50/hr incumbents must have flexibility to fill in on all shifts at both locations.

• Enforcing college, local and state rules and regulations
• Inspecting assigned areas
• Recording incidents
• Securing buildings
• Monitoring visitor access
• Reporting discrepancies and hazardous conditions
• Conducting foot and vehicular patrols
• Monitoring surveillance cameras and responding to emergencies
• Providing security at special events such as convocations, registration, and other college functions

• May be required to perform other duties as assigned
• May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor

• Considerable experience in a security or law enforcement environment required
• Campus Security Officer Certification or ability to obtain within 180 days
• Must have a valid Virginia driver’s license and satisfactory driving record
• Moderate lifting and extensive walking required
• Ability to maintain a positive, productive, cooperative attitude and serve as a team player
• Experience providing excellent customer service required
• Requires working flexible schedules that includes weekends, day, evening and night shifts
• Successful completion and passing of a criminal background check required

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
