Security Dispatch Officer - Evenings

Job Summary

Garda World Security Services is hiring a GSOC Dispatch Specialist in Richmond, VA. The role is responsible for ensuring the efficient flow of information from the Security Operations Center (SOC) and Control Rooms to Corporate Security Management. The SOC operates 24/7 to monitor activity across the enterprise and deliver prioritized actionable security incidents. The selected candidate must work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.

• Alarm monitoring and CCTV monitoring.
• Camera surveillance and surveys.
• Answering phone calls and operating IP-based telephone systems.
• Radio dispatch and communication across multi‑channel systems.
• Log radio and telephone calls.
• Route call information to appropriate units.
• Ensure timely and effective response to incidents, alarms, notifications, and calls.
• Receive and respond to emergency and non‑emergency calls from employees, vendors, law enforcement, and field force.
• Process and evaluate information from all available sources and respond with appropriate communication and dispatch procedures.
• Coordinate with SOC staff to provide necessary documentation for uniformed guard force activity.
• Other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in Criminal Justice, Communications, or related field preferred.
• Must be able to pass state‑required training or other licensing requirements.
• Pre‑offer pre‑test assessment covering multitasking, decision making, listening, communication, call management, spelling, situational awareness, comprehension, problem solving, memory recall, interpersonal skills, and attention to detail.
• Demonstrated analytic and critical thinking skills; ability to prepare reports.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience operating radio, telephone equipment, and console monitors; ability to adapt in a dynamic work environment.
• Experience in modern 911 call center, central station alarm monitoring, dispatch, or control room environment.
• Knowledge of security software systems such as alarm receiving automation, incident management, CCTV systems, mass notification, etc.
• Strong oral and written communication, planning, organizing, problem solving, listening, evaluating, synthesizing, research, mediating conflict, creativity, multitasking, goal setting, logical thinking, and attention to detail.
