Police Officer - Retiree Part-Time
The City of Richmond Police Department is accepting applications for a Police Officer – Retiree Part-Time position.
Requirements29-32 hours per week. Overtime must be avoided; if over 29 hours a week it will be paid, otherwise the employee may be removed from the program. Re‑hired part‑time employees can lose pension benefits if they work a full‑time schedule.

- Assignments can be offered on a case‑by‑case basis.
Work schedule can vary depending on the assignment. Dayshift only and weekdays only are not guaranteed.
Successful completion of an interview, thorough background investigation (including a polygraph exam), physical and drug/alcohol screening is required. The Police Department background process may take up to 60‑90 days. An applicant disqualified from the background process may reapply a year after disqualification.
Training RequirementsRequires medium to heavy work that involves walking, standing, stooping, lifting, digging, pushing and raising objects and involves exerting between 20 to 50 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis and 50 to 100 pounds of force on an occasional basis.
Environmental HazardsThe job may expose the employee to bright/dim light, dusts and pollen, extreme heat and/or cold, wet or humid conditions, extreme noise levels, animals/wildlife, fumes and/or noxious odors, traffic, moving machinery, heights, disease/pathogens, explosives, and violence.
Sensory RequirementsThe job requires normal visual acuity and field of vision, hearing, speaking, color perception, sense of smell, depth perception, and texture perception.
