Job DescriptionAs a Security Officer Armed Patrol Driver in Richmond, VA
, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries. Join Allied Universal as an Armed Patrol Officer at a busy public transit location. Conduct routine vehicle and foot patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, respond to concerns, and provide courteous assistance to riders and staff. This driving post calls for sound judgment, clear communication, and integrity.

- Provide customer service to passengers, employees, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols aboard transit vehicles, at transit facilities, and around property perimeters to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, and problem-solving manner.
- Monitor passenger areas, access points, and transit operations, and promptly report suspicious activity, hazards, and policy violations.
- Coordinate with transit personnel, Allied Universal leadership, emergency responders, and/or law enforcement as needed, and complete accurate incident reports.
- Have at least one year of armed security-related experience, law enforcement experience, and/or military experience.
- Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
- A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
- Handcuffs, pepper spray, and/or a baton are preferred.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
