MEB is seeking a motivated Laborer to support heavy civil and industrial construction projects throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. This role performs essential manual labor to prepare job sites, support skilled trades, and maintain safe and productive work areas.
Laborers are expected to work in active construction environments, follow all safety procedures, and take direction from foremen and leadmen to support daily operations.
Core ResponsibilitiesPerform general manual labor in support of heavy civil construction activities.
Clean ditches, remove concrete forms, and assist with site cleanup and housekeeping.
Assist skilled trades with daily tasks, including pipe fitters, pipelayers, equipment operators, and carpenters.
Assist with the installation of underground utilities and related infrastructure.
Support piping and equipment installation at industrial facilities, including water and wastewater treatment plants and shipyards.
Assist with erection and removal of temporary structures, formwork, and falsework as directed.
Carry, move, and organize materials and tools.
Perform physical tasks including lifting, shoveling, raking, and hand excavation.
Follow all safety policies and procedures and immediately report unsafe conditions.
Perform additional tasks as directed by the foreman or leadman.
Required Skills & ExperiencePrevious heavy construction or industrial labor experience preferred, but not required.
Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
Willingness to perform physically demanding work in all weather conditions.
Ability to work effectively as part of a crew and communicate with supervisors.
Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic.
Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
Safety & Physical RequirementsAbility to perform physical labor, including lifting over 50 lbs., climbing, bending, kneeling, and working outdoors in all weather conditions, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Ability to work 8–10 hour shifts and extended hours as required by project schedules.
Commitment to working safely in accordance with company, OSHA, and site-specific safety requirements.
Employment RequirementsMinimum 18 years of age.
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test.
Legally authorized to work in the United States.
U.S. citizenship and ability to pass a background check may be required for government projects.
Reliable transportation to and from the jobsite.
Willingness to travel based on project needs.
