The OHE Laborer/Groundman is responsible for preparing and cleaning construction sites by removing debris and hazards, loading and unloading building materials, operating equipment and machines, and assisting craft workers with their duties. This position supports the Construction team and works collaboratively with department personnel.

• Clean and prepare the construction site for work, removing debris and possible hazards.
• Assist the tradesmen in completing their skilled tasks more effectively.
• Identify utilities and watch dig crews to prevent utility hits; assist in manual digging.
• Clean up and maintain equipment.
• Restock trucks with supplies, ensuring crews have the proper tools and supplies to complete the job.
• Seed and straw.

Minimum

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license.

Preferred

• 1 or more years of experience.
• CDL Class A driver's license.

This job operates in a field environment and requires extended periods of bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, and twisting. Work may be performed in inclement weather (extreme heat, cold, rain, ice, snow, wind). The position is physically active, with lifting up to 50 pounds, and requires clear vision at 20 feet or more or 20 inches or less, precise hand‑eye coordination, and the ability to distinguish colors.
