Responsibilities and Qualifications

Key Responsibilities

Delivery & Material Handling
  • Assist CDL drivers with daily delivery routes to residential and commercial job sites, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries
  • Verify trucks are loaded and secured in accordance with company and Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). unload, stage, and place materials at job sites based on customer specifications, including rooftop or multi‑level deliveries when required
  • Utilize equipment such as dollies, flat carts, and Moffett/piggyback forklifts (if trained) to efficiently move materials
Inventory
  • When required, participate in monthly and/or annual physical inventories
Safety
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment
  • Follow all safety protocols and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements to maintain a safe working environment
  • Use proper lifting techniques
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment, safety shoes and clothing
Physical Requirements
  • Frequent use of hands and arms for equipment operation, grasping and manipulation
  • Frequent lifting, carrying, and maneuvering of building materials (including drywall and steel stud) weighing up to 100 lbs, individually or as part of a team
  • Frequently driving or sitting in a truck, forklift or other similar equipment for multiple hours a day
  • Frequent pushing, pulling, lifting or carrying building materials weighing approximately 100 pounds, using proper lifting procedures; and occasionally pushing, pulling, lifting or carrying greater weights. Pushing and pulling carts loaded carts over various distances and surfaces. Some functions may be performed as a team
  • Additional physical requirements may be needed as duties are assigned

Qualifications

  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Prior experience in building materials, construction, distribution, or delivery environments preferred or willingness to learn
  • Hands‑on experience loading, securing, and unloading materials such as drywall, lumber, roofing, or similar products
  • Familiarity with job site deliveries and working alongside drivers on delivery routes
  • Forklift or Moffett experience is a plus (or willingness to be trained)
  • Strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally at job sites
  • Team‑oriented with a strong work ethic and commitment to safety
