Miscellaneous Metals Field Crew Foreman
Pay: $32.00 - $38.00/hr, based on experience
DescriptionCannonball Recruiting is seeking an experienced Miscellaneous Metals Field Crew Foreman for a growing steel fabrication and installation company in Virginia.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands‑on leader with experience installing stairs, railings, and miscellaneous metals. The ideal candidate will oversee field crews, coordinate daily jobsite activities, maintain safety standards, and ensure projects are completed efficiently and according to specifications.
Experience- 5+ years of experience in miscellaneous metals installation preferred
- Previous foreman or supervisory experience preferred
- Experience installing stairs, handrails, guardrails, and miscellaneous metal components
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and project specifications
- Strong understanding of jobsite safety practices and OSHA requirements
- Experience coordinating with general contractors and other trades
- Working knowledge of AWS D1.1 welding standards
- Experience with SMAW, FCAW, GMAW, and GTAW welding processes
- Current welding certifications or ability to pass a weld test preferred
- Lead and supervise field crews during the installation of stairs, railings, and miscellaneous metals
- Coordinate daily activities with general contractors and project stakeholders
- Read and interpret blueprints and perform field layout as required
- Organize manpower, materials, tools, and equipment to ensure project success
- Ensure all crew members follow company safety policies and jobsite regulations
- Conduct safety meetings and promote a strong safety culture
- Complete daily field reports, safety reports, and vehicle inspection reports
- Monitor and maintain service trucks, tools, welding equipment, and jobsite resources
- Report incidents, safety concerns, and equipment issues to management
- Ensure projects are completed on time and according to quality standards
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- 5+ years of miscellaneous metals installation experience
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, safety procedures, and technical documents
- Strong math skills, including fractions, measurements, angles, and degrees
- Knowledge of AWS D1.1 welding standards
- Current welding certifications or ability to pass a weld test
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced construction environment
