Installation Superintendent - Digital Building Components
Digital Building Components, part of the DPR family, seeks a highly motivated, experienced, hardworking, and organized Installation Superintendent to lead an installation crew of metal panel facades. The role involves travel across the nation and responsibilities across safety, planning, production, cost, scheduling, logistics, communication, and organization.
Supervisory Responsibilities- Manage DBC subcontractors in field (metal panel, caulking, cranes, deliveries, etc.).
- Lead crew to achieve productivity and stay on schedule.
- Ensure traveling crew adheres to code of conduct representing DBC.
- Resolve field problems and know when to elevate to engineering/management.
- Schedule and manage jobsite inspection process and interaction with inspectors.
- Daily reports.
- Manage site logistics, craning, rigging.
- Identify and document field issues using measurements, digital photos, email.
- Respond promptly to issues/questions in meetings and emails or escalates when unclear.
- Track and interpret job schedules and work progress daily/weekly.
- Identify and eliminate job site hazards and unsafe work practices.
- Hold jobsite safety meetings with DBC crews and help develop an injury-free environment.
- Attend overall jobsite safety meetings.
- Review, comment, and mark up drawings/spool sheets.
- Manage crew traveling plans.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities
- General understanding of welding.
- General understanding of waterproofing systems exterior skin systems.
- Ability to identify and resolve complex issues.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, sections, details and navigate a model.
- Ability to develop, complete and communicate pre-task plans, job hazard analysis, crane packages, etc.
- Professional communication with GC team and other subs/consultants.
- Excellent listening and communication skills and use of technology (tablet, computer, phone, etc.).
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and accuracy.
- Dependable with strong work ethic and ability to meet deadlines and respond to changes in priorities.
- 15+ years experience with metal stud framing and drywall (layout and control, framing & hanging, fire ratings & STC ratings, fire caulking & fire safing).
- Experience supervising a crew of 15 or more.
- Experience in panelized construction or concrete formwork systems (layout, flying, setting, anchoring, bracing).
- Experience with leading edge work.
- OSHA 10 & 30 certification.
- Certified Rigging (must achieve in first 2 months).
- First Aid & CPR trained (must achieve in first 2 months).Experience with multi-story load-bearing framing systems (wood or gauge steel) is a plus.
- Experience using Blue Beam, Trimble, and Total Station is a plus.
- Bi-lingual in Spanish is a plus.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
- Must be ready and able to travel throughout the US to installation sites.
