Miscellaneous Metals Ironworker Welder
Pay: $24.00 - $32.00/hr, based on experience
DescriptionCannonball Recruiting is seeking an experienced Miscellaneous Metals Ironworker Welder for a growing steel fabrication and installation company in Virginia.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled ironworker and welder who enjoys working on commercial construction projects involving stairs, railings, and miscellaneous metals. The ideal candidate will have strong welding and installation experience, the ability to read blueprints, and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
Experience- Experience in miscellaneous metals installation preferred
- Experience installing stairs, handrails, guardrails, and other miscellaneous metal components
- Working knowledge of AWS D1.1 welding standards
- Experience with SMAW, FCAW, GMAW, and GTAW welding processes
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and project specifications
- Experience using construction and fabrication tools and equipment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Perform welding and fabrication work for the installation of stairs, railings, and miscellaneous metal components
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and installation specifications
- Organize tools, materials, and equipment required for daily jobsite activities
- Install miscellaneous metal products according to project requirements
- Follow all company safety policies and jobsite-specific safety procedures
- Wear and maintain required personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Ensure work meets quality standards and project specifications
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Work collaboratively with crew members, foremen, and project teams to complete projects safely and efficiently
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Experience in miscellaneous metals installation preferred
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Strong math skills, including fractions, measurements, angles, and degrees
- Working knowledge of AWS D1.1 standards
- Current welding certifications or ability to pass a weld test
- Knowledge of industry tools, equipment, and safe work practices
- Ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment
