Heavy Equipment Operator - Richmond
Department: Grading
Reports to: Project Superintendent / Project Foreman
Major Role and PurposeOperates heavy industrial equipment such as dozers, excavators, backhoes, and other grading or excavating equipment to move and level materials, such as dirt and gravel.
Description of Duties- Monitors the activity within the site.
- Follows all safety policies and procedures.
- Spreads dirt in fill area.
- Clears and grubs area being worked.
- Performs fine and rough grade operations.
- Runs a fill area.
- Reads slope stakes.
- Cuts slope to the job's specifications (type of slope, ditch cut depths, and fill section heights).
- Directs trucks and equipment where to off-load, stock, or spread material loads.
- Dresses and cleans up job at the completion.
- Water, oil, grease, and service to make normal operating adjustments to equipment.
- Operates equipment in a safe and consistent manner.
- Willingness to work nights and weekends.
- Performs all other duties deemed necessary or assigned.
- High School Diploma (Preferred)
- 3–5 Years Operating Various Heavy Equipment.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Understand GPS grade control.
- Knowledge of grades.
