Education Requirement
H.S. Diploma or GED preferred, with basic reading and writing skills.
Experience RequirementExperience operating a small diameter drill such as Commachio; experience with tie backs, shotcrete, lagging walls helpful.
Special SkillsDrill rig experience/knowledge, concrete knowledge/experience, supervisory experience.
Travel RequirementWilling to travel. Extensive travel is a requirement; job performed in the Mid‑Atlantic and Southeast regions.

Pay Rate$28.00/hr – $38.00/hr based on experience.

Job SummaryWe are currently looking for Drill Operators to join our Geotechnical Group in Virginia. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated, dependable individual who can communicate efficiently, work well with others, and direct assistance. Experience in earth work and micro piles drilling is preferred. The role requires extensive travel.
Requirements- Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation.
- Experience with temporary shoring, earth retention systems, foundations and ground stabilization.
- Ability to operate small diameter drill rigs and assist ground crew.
- Operate and assist in maintaining drill rigs, installing tie backs, micropiles, soil mats, etc.
- Prepare grout for tiebacks and micropiles (plus).
- Perform minor repairs and service to equipment.
- Supervise drill rig helpers to tool or mix grout.
- Understand and promote Wagman’s safety policies and culture.
- Lift up to 60 pounds from ground to waist level and 30 pounds above shoulder during shift.
- Continuous standing and walking required.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
- Climb ladders; work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Acceptable corrected vision, hearing.
- Work at heights up to 150 feet; bend, squat, kneel, crawl.
- Perform fine manipulation tasks with both hands.
- Reach, lift, work above shoulder height; work on uneven surfaces and confined spaces.
