Position: Mobile Light/Medium Mechanic I

JOB SUMMARY

Cox Fleet is currently hiring a Light/Medium Duty Automotive Technician to join our recently acquired company, Corcoran Fleet Services, to support our combined future growth. The role involves performing preventative maintenance inspections, light and follow‑up repairs, mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and electronic diagnostics, licensed DOT inspections, and other duties at customer locations. The technician will continue to learn advanced mechanical skills and diagnostic techniques and must comply with all company policies and achieve high level performance metrics.

  • Work on various light/medium duty vehicles such as F150, F250, and F350, including specialty equipment.
  • Travel required 100% of the time; service multiple customers in the area and around the state.
  • Work a rotating schedule of Mon‑Fri the first week and Mon‑Sat the second week (home every day).
  • Flat Rate position with abundance of work available.
DUTIES
  • Follow and comply with safe operating practices and procedures.
  • Travel to and perform work at customer location, mostly outdoors.
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM), DOT inspections, and follow‑up repairs on light and medium vehicles in the field.
  • Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment.
  • Use hand tools, precision instruments, diesel tools, lifts, and jacks.
  • Make minor adjustments and repairs on customer vehicles (electrical, brake, cooling systems, starters, alternators, fan clutches, engine electronics, gas engines, transmissions).
  • Diagnose, adjust, and repair various vehicle systems, including electrical, brake, cooling, air conditioning, steering, clutches, and differential systems.
  • Inspect, test, and diagnose using scanners and pressure gauges.
  • Identify problems, determine accuracy and relevance of information, and evaluate alternatives.
  • Determine parts required, order and pick up for installation.
  • Work in compliance with safety, health, environmental policies, OSHA, EPA, DOT.
  • Document work on Repair Orders and upload pictures of work performed, parts used, and findings.
  • Accurately complete DOT forms and other documentation.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and assist cleanup of tools, parts, and equipment.
  • Apply knowledge gained through training or experience.
  • Work with support team to assess customer needs and resolve problems.
  • Manage concurrent tasks and prioritize activities and time allocations.
  • Act with integrity, honesty, keep commitments, maintain confidentiality, adhere to ethical standards.
  • Maintain productivity and meet standard repair times.
  • Communicate with support team to obtain approvals on repair estimates, purchase order numbers, or discuss RO findings.
  • Participate and complete all company‑required safety training.
  • Maintain assigned service vehicle, conduct safety checks and pre/post trip inspections.
  • Adhere to company policies, processes, and procedures.
REQUIREMENTS
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license with safe driving record.
  • Possess and supply hand tools necessary for job duties.
  • Minimum of one year of experience as an Automotive Technician on light/medium vehicle repair or equivalent education, certifications, skills, or experience.
  • Minimum of two years of equivalent experience in a similar technician role.
  • Participate in and complete all company‑required training.

  • Physically capable of lifting, bending, climbing, standing, walking for long periods; perform moderate heavy labor.
  • Endurance for repetitive tasks without tiring.

  • Accurately judge distances between objects.
  • Use logic and reasoning to evaluate alternatives.
